Halifax Housing Help Needs YOUR Help

Financial support is needed to cover basic costs over the next three months as management and staff of HHH continue to seek commitments of stable funding to maintain the Halifax Housing Help Program in the long-term.

In the immediate term we are facing a funding gap and risk losing our important office space and funds to maintain banking costs for our trustee program and emergency fund.  These have been key factors in the successful transition of many HHH participants to housing stability.

What can you do to help?

Give your donation of financial support

Organize fundraising events – HHH is available to assist in providing volunteers and info for any event

Pass the word along to others who may be able to help

Connect HHH management and staff with key stakeholders who could lend support

You can be part of program where participants realize more than a roof over their head, but also find community, dignity and benefits to diverse areas of their lives:

“When you go in, they lead you down the right road when you’re lost.”

Housing
“They got me out of slum areas and into improved housing conditions.”

Mental Health
“Being homeless is depressing, housing has helped.”

Addiction
“With their help I am more at ease and able to relax. I am not in as much stress to trigger drinking.”

“They did whatever they could to help. I stopped using crack when I found stable housing.”

Physical Health
“My health is better because I have a permanent place to live.”

“I had heart surgery. It’s hard on the streets to care for yourself. Housing has improved my health a lot because I can care for my condition now.”
